Knowing how something is built is as important as knowing how it should function.
Prior to taking a position as an inspector for a large home inspection firm in 1992, Bill worked as a construction supervisor and carpenter for over a decade. This practical experience provided a solid foundation and sound understanding of construction methods, building materials and mechanical systems that many home inspectors did not possess. Over the course of his career, Bill has inspected more than 10,000 properties of every conceivable size and condition. His credentials include:
- Full Time Home Inspector for 15+ years - Massachusetts License #113
- Licensed Pest Certification #30219
- Construction Supervisor and Carpenter for 10+ years
Our clients learn what’s what – and what to expect in the future…
We encourage our clients to accompany us during the inspection process to see first hand, the positives and the negatives of the property, where potential problems exist and what maintenance will be required to preserve the property in the future.
Reasonable fees and practical advice…
Shockley Home Inspections charges reasonable fees to inspect single and multi-family homes, townhouses, condos, antique homes and commercial buildings. We also provide practical advice to sellers to help them prepare their property for sale.
Pre-sale inspections are recommended for sellers before they list their home with a real estate agent. This can identify potential problems before they become a negotiating point for buyers.
Similarly, we endorse “home staging” services to present your home to interested buyers. Homes that are prepared for sale by a staging professional will attract more offers and display your home’s assets more favorable -- resulting in a faster turnaround -- from listing to closing.
Susan Shockley (Bill’s wife) offers home staging services and can provide you with additional information. Visit her web site at www.hiddenpotentialhomestage.com.
Our Mission…
Shockley Home Inspections will provide every client with:
- An honest, impartial and objective home inspection;
- An informative written inspection report - delivered in a timely manner, and;
- Practical advice that allows clients to make an informed decision about the inspected property.
